Background

• Matt and Caroline both grew up in Southern Maryland, and came to know the Lord through the ministry of Young Life and Grace Brethren Church of Waldorf, MD.

• We both earned degrees from Washington Bible College. Matt went on to Capital Bible Seminary, and then got a Certificate in Applied Linguistics from the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics (Dallas, TX - Wycliffe Bible Translators’ school)

• We were married on Dec 30, 2000 and have been blessed with 3 boys – Mark (9), Micah (7) and Elijah (4). Caroline is currently pregnant with their forth son.

• Our ministry experience includes involvement with the Waldorf and Lanham Grace Brethren Churches, Grace Community Church of So. MD, Young Life, InterVarsity, New Tribes Mission, CrossWorld, and Pioneers. We have served in the U.S., Kosovo, Papua New Guinea, and now in Indonesia in the province of Papua formerly known as Irian Jaya.

Our ministry

Here is what we believe the Lord has called us to do:
• Live among the Bayono people • Learn their language and way of life • Share the Gospel in their heart language • Train and support national evangelists from other tribes who have come to reach out to Bayono • Show the love of Christ in practical ways • Translate the Bible into Bayono • Distribute the Scriptures in audio and text form • Help new believers to grow...

Our vision for partnership in ministry

•Consistent communication from us on the mission field with our partners in U.S.A.
•Consistent prayer, encouragement and financial support from partners in U.S.A.
•Ministry among partners when we are in the U.S.A. (following Paul’s example in Acts 14:26-28; 15:35; 18:22-23).
•Every 2 years or so we hope to take a few months to return to the United States. In addition to having much-needed rest during these furlough times, we really desire to serve and edify our supporting churches.
•We desire to devote ample time to relationships with supporters when we are back, focusing mostly in the Maryland/D.C. and Atlanta, GA areas.
•We also desire to help Christians see God’s heart for the unreached people groups of the world, and their own role in reaching those people groups.
